As I know it, Dai-Dai is a legendary Amerindian spirit said to be common to the
Bush Dai-Dai seems primarily to be a protector of mineral and natural resources, and sightings and more of this demon or forest spirit may not be unusual especially in gold and diamond rich areas of the Bush.
“Lennox, boy, you know that everybody saying that you fight Moongazer and all kind of things when you went in the Bush. Well, I don't know about all that, but I know that you lucky that you didn't tangle up with Bush Dai-Dai because that would be another story. My father was a pork-knocker in the Bush and even when he didn't bring back plenty gold and diamond, he would always talk about Bush Dai-Dai.”
Bush Dai-Dai is also said by some to be a possessor of small children, which seems normal enough behavior for a forest demon; maybe necessary to keep those living outside the forest, even if just in a clearing, from venturing into the wild.
“It was plain to see by those in the know about such things that the young girl had a spirit in she, and it was only a few people now who would pause more than a moment before giving this as a diagnosis. After all, she wasn't responding to the usual medicines and treatments, and experience at least told that things would only get worse; so talk naturally turned to Bush Dai-Dai and Kanaima; and all that was left really was to decide who would be called in to fix the problem, since the what of the problem was generally clear enough.”
As I know it, Bush Dai-Dai is a legendary, Amerindian forest demon; hideous in appearance, diminutive in size; protector of gold, diamonds and natural resources, likely bane of pork-knockers; and maybe possessor of children. Do you know about Bush Dai-Dai? How do you know it?
